Alpenglow Stube – TEMPORARILY CLOSED – (970/496-4386)—Outpost Day Lodge at the top of North Peak (two gondola rides included). Fine dining (AAA 4-Diamond) at 11,000 feet in a secluded Bavarian-style setting, warmed by a roaring fire.
Der Fondue Chessel (970/496-4386)—Also located in the Outpost Day Lodge. Full four-course fondue dinner in very informal exposed-log banquet room, accompanied by serenades from wandering Bavarian musicians. Ideal for kids—lots of music, dancing, and sing-alongs. (Good occasion and setting for family photos.)
Ski Tip Lodge (970/496-4386)—Located a half mile east of River Run Village on Montezuma Road. Historic 1800’s stagecoach stop, tastefully restored into what may be the most charming restaurant in the Colorado Rockies.
Keystone Ranch (970/496-4386)—Keystone’s other AAA 4-Diamond restaurant, located on the Keystone Ranch golf course (6 minutes west of Keystone Lodge). 1930’s ranch homestead, impeccably converted into an elegant restaurant.
Popular Restaurants
Snake River Saloon (970/468-2788)—Highway 6 near Gateway Lodge. Sports bar on one side; Continental restaurant on the other. Live bands 3-4 times a week during ski season (schedule at SnakeRiverSaloon.com).
Black Bear Grill (970/436-4822)—Located in the Keystone Inn, 23044 Highway 6. Best described as “American bistro.” Family-friendly dining. Main attraction for kids—build your own cookies. Weekly martini tastings Friday 4-5 pm. Microbrew tasting Sunday 4-5 pm.
Kickapoo Tavern (970/468-0922)—Right in River Run Village near the gondola. Great spot for lunch or dinner while you’re skiing. Sports bar with lots of HDTVs.
Summit Pizzeria & Pub (970/468-7867)—Mountain View Plaza on Highway 6 midway between River Run and Keystone Lodge. Gourmet pizzas, subs, calzones, and more.
Dos Locos Mexican Restaurant (970/262-9185)—Mountain View Plaza. A local favorite with everything you’d expect in a Mexican restaurant plus a crowd-pleasing 3-6 Happy Hour.
The Goat Soup & Whiskey Tavern (970/513-9344)—Highway 6 across the road from Mountain View Plaza. Known for its great breakfasts, casual dining, and ambitious schedule of live bands. Check out the upcoming schedule at soupandwhiskey.com/events.
The Inxpot (970/262-3750)—Located in River Run Village. Popular with skiers for a quick breakfast (great coffee options) or lunch. Favorite hangout for non-skiers to spend the day reading—over-stuffed chairs, game tables, and reading materials.
The Last Lift Bar (970/496-4386)—Located in the Mountain House near the Peru Express lift. Long-time favorite among the après-ski crowd. Live music some nights. Good place to rest tired legs while the kids night ski or attack the terrain park nearby.
Haywood Café in Gateway Lodge (970/262-9300). Located on Highway 6 at the E. Keystone Road entrance to River Run Village. Laptops for rent. Premier sports bar also (12 HDTVs with all the games and special events).
